  1. Went to The Bike Show at NEC today. As a roadie, it was nice
to see a bit more raod bike stuff there,

BUT, overall, a waste of time from my perspective.

I thought I might be able to pick up some new shoes, socks &
top(s). No chance, couldn't find anyone selling anything I
wanted. It was a long way to go to get 3 lube sprays cheap!

There was a nice Merlin Ghisallo frame, but I didn't have
£2000 handy, and not in the foreseeable future either. (It
    was LIGHT [1]).

    [1] The whole bike.

Get yourself to the Mildenhall Cycle Rally in August,
there's a trade fair where loads of bargains are to be
    found.

Last year I bought a Briko long-sleeved cycle jersey for a
tenner, identical to the one Evans Cycles retail for a sniff
under £40 I also got my prize buy of a pair of leather cycle
boots (trainer boot syle) with Look cleats fitted where the
cleat is recessed into the sole, making them "normal" to
walk in at the extortionate cost of £4. I've used them all
winter - they've been great at keeping my feet warm. Giving
them a coat of dubbin means that for the most part, they've
also kept my feet perfectly dry too. Also got a Briko
twinner helmet for Nathan for £30, which Parker
International do for a sniff under £85

    Cheers, helen s

  3. Speaking of bike shows, does anybody know if there's gonna
be one in or near London in the near future?

I know the London triathlon has a mini display of bikes, but
    I need a big one!!!
