Here in Metro Manila, particularly in the famous EDSA avenue, there are bike stations where some bikes are parked that anyone can use - to travel to the next station or stations where the bike is to be returned. That novelty is an innovation of the Metro Manila Development authority to encourage biking among the populace in order to lessen the traffic on the roads. However, I don't see much of bike lanes in Metro Manila and probably that's one project they should embark on.

It's a really great idea, and hopefully more cities around the world will follow suite. Bike riding is a great way to get to your destination, without any negative side-effect on the environment. Furthermore, folks that ride their bikes regularly will stay in shape and be healthier.
