Bike selling advice, Trek Marlin SS

I'm basically in the same boat, although I've embraced cycling pretty enthusiastically these last two years.

I bought a 2012 Trek Marlin <http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/2012/archive/trek/marlin_2012/#> as more or less an impulse buy. I don't regret it per say, since I do ride it quite a lot. It did get me to actively bike. But I'm beginning to see what the sales-guy was talking about... I live in Iowa, not a lot of mountainous terrain around here. A road bike would come in handy seeing as I've taken the Marlin offroading only once.

Gonna try to take it to BikeWorld and see what kind of price I can get for a trade-in. Got my eye on a Trek 1.1 road bike.

But hey -- using a mountain bike as a road bike is all right, you just end up pushing yourself harder ey??

could sell between 400 & 500 usd, its a nice mountain bike,

I'd probably be inclined to list it a bit under $500 and agree that it should probably sell between $400 and $500.
