I'd like to buy a bike rack for my vehicle. Trying to decide type and brand to buy. I drive a 4door Jeep Rubicon. It has a spare tire. I think I prefer a hitch-mount rack where the bike sits on a rack as opposed to hanging. Wondering if there are any suggestions of type and brand to get. Any concerns or info I should be aware of of this type rack or any rack. Thx.

I have an older Thule roof rack and for the price they have the brass to ask for them, they're only 'Meh'. Still, Thule offers a platform type :

FWIW, Menards sells a hanging style 2-bike hitch rack for $25 that looks pretty solid and a bargain, for sure. Or just do like I do...instead of plowing $400-$700 into a preppy rack 'system' I just go out and buy a beater vehicle to toss the bikes in! What? You didn't know Buick made bike racks?! Sure, they do! They come complete with cup holders, tunes and air!
