  1. Are either of these bikes worth buying for a university student? My uses for the bike will be commuting to the grocery store and my classes.

  2. Both of these bikes are around 20 years old, but they look loved and cared for. Make sure shifters and brakes work, there's enough rubber on the brake pads and tires to last a semester, and that wheels and cranks spin smoothly and don't wobble. The frames are rather large. If everything works and it fits, ride it home. Use problems as a point of negotiation.
