  1. Should I eat a banana before or after climbing a big hill?" and "How much pressure should I apply when tightening the rear derailleur cable?"?

  2. My preference would be to eat after the hill. I think it's best to eat during easier section since a hard effort may interfere with digestion. However, a great food for cycling, the banana, in addition to being a good source of potassium, high in carbohydrates, and comes in a biodegradable package🙂, it is also easy to digest. Because of this, it probably won't make much difference whether you eat your banana before or after the hill.

  3. I would eat the banana after the hill - for me any food in my guts just before a big effort doesnt sit comfortably. That said if you are feeling hungry and you think you might be getting close to bonking get that banana in as quick as you can !
