my brother rode my bike in the snow a few days ago and the chain appears rusty now.
how can i fix this?
do i need a new chain? if i do, are there any guides that tell you how to change it

thanksGive it a good lube with a 'wet' chain lube.

That is rarely grounds for a new chain. I have taken ones that needed turning with vise grips and made them up to spec. If it is stiff, run a thinner lube through the links as you work it over. Grab the chain in both hands and work each link through its full rotation. When you are done, flood it with the lube again to remove the junk, and wipe it thoroughly with a rag. Then, depending on what lube you used, coat with a wet lube. Wipe as well, since wet lubes get sloppy.
