I'm heading over to watch the TDF this year and need to get a bike bag to transport by beloved Bianchi. I'll also be travelling with it to Italy as well for an extended vacation.
So, I've got two bags in mind at the moment
1. Scicon Aero Confort - soft bag but with a mouting frame. 2. TC-1 BS-5 - Hard case. Have to remove a few more parts but it's a hard case.
I've head plenty of stories where people have been fine using a good quality soft bag and their bikes haven't suffered any damage after many trips.
On the other hand, I just can't get out of my head the fact the a hard case will offer the ultimate protection - only they cost more.
Any opinions on what I should get or personal experiences?

Thanks.
Problem with a hard case is the weight, I have one, bike plus case is nearly 20kg. What about the tried and trusted cardboard box??
