hey everyone.
i recently had my old bike stolen, so i picked up an '03 cannondale Bad Boy.
the only gripe i have, beside the tires (which i flatted in two days), is that i can not go fast enough.
i am sorry if you all have answered my questions before, but i don't even know what to search the archives under.
anyway, i need speed. right now i have a 44t big chainring (correct?) look

anyway- I need a bigger chainring(s) to go faster. this bike will mosty be doing chicago's lakeshore trail, but will also switch to nobbies and hit some trails every once in a while. it has a deore front derailer.
so- what are your recommendations for how to get a faster gearing? I don't want to spend much. i just dropped a $100 more for new tires and tubes b/c i popped the original ones.
