Is anybody here planning to do Longtown MRT's Big Black Mountains
Challenge this weekend? We're doing the 27km walk on the grounds that 43
km is just madness. At least it ends at a pub.

43 km would be a bit of a challenge, 27 km just stretches a good day
walk :-)

You may be right, but seeing this:
"Outlook for Saturday / Rhagolygon ar gyfer Dydd Sadwrn
Saturday will again prove unsettled and cloudy across Wales. Some
showery rain is expected for many areas, especially for mid and North
Wales. Again windy, with the west to northwest winds strong over the
summits. The winds will slowly ease later in the day, with perhaps some
late brightness developing. Hill fog is expected."
I'm glad I opted for the shorter route!
