A bicyclist was killed in a collision with a car Sunday afternoon on U.S. 92 west of Lakeland, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Thomas Hurd, 52, of 403 Fifth St. S.E. in Winter Haven, was riding a mountain bike west on U.S. 92 on the north shoulder when the accident occurred, the FHP said.
