Thanks Jim and Helen for the information. I did know of Derek Baker's
site, and that he had available a 'swish' ring-bound copy of the
manual. I suppose I was being mean in that whilst I don't really see
much long term need for the manual, it could be useful to be aware of
the key aspects of maintenance. At £12.50, the cost of the manual
would form a sizeable percentage of what I paid for the bike, and
without actually knowing what was in it, is that a worthwhile
investment?

If you have the facilities to post a link to some closeup pictures of
the Bickerton (especially joints and moving bits), I suspect you might
get some comments on anything which looks out of the ordinary in the way
of maintenance, and the ordinary stuff would be easily covered by the
usual web resources.
