The world number one women's team, Bik-Powerplate, has sacked its director
Ton Vrolijk. The administration of the team already fired him in December,
but allowed him to come back two weeks later. However the administration
believes that he supplied "incorrect information" to them regarding a team
bike that had disappeared, and Vrolijk was sacked again.

New team director for Bik-Powerplate

The Bik-Powerplate team has hired Lars Verboom to replace Ton Vrolijk as
team director, ANP reports. Vrolijk was sacked just over a week ago by the
team's administration, and team director Frank van der Goes also left at the
same time. Verboom is the former director of the Dutch national women's
team, has spent time with the American national team, and prior to that with
the Erotic Discount Centre amateur squad.

Bik is back
Dutch women's team boss Michel Bik will be back with a UCI registered trade
team this year, according to an ANP report. Bik co-sponsored the now defunct
Powerplate-Bik team last year and has been allowed to register a trade team
by the Dutch cycling federation (KNWU). However, the KNWU's chairman Erik
Lutjens is still interested in investigating Bik over matters relating to
his squad last year. There are allegations against former Powerplate-Bik
team director Ton Vrolijk and soigneur Ruud Verbeek regarding theft and the
supply of doping products.

The new team includes Dutch riders Daniëlle Bekkering, Eyelien Bekkering,
Lenie Dijkstra and Corine Dorland, as well as Elisabet Chantzi (Greece) and
Corine Hierckens (Belgium). The team will be directed by Rinus Verboom.
