The main problem with BF bikes is you need to re-build them after only 4,000 miles. I have just done this on my latest BF, which is a stock Pocket Tourist. They ain't cheap or fast. The frames are guaranteed for life. They have good email and phone support. BF is a small company in Oregon. I don't know about tandems, recumbents, etc.
