Whats the point of doing endless intervals and sprints on a stationary bike if youre just going to end up burning muscle mass along with the fat? I see all these indoor cycling workouts for fat loss that claim to be the magic bullet, but they all seem to be based on the same outdated HIIT principles.
Isnt it time to rethink the whole more is better approach to indoor cycling and focus on low-intensity, long-duration workouts that actually promote fat loss without sacrificing muscle mass? I mean, who needs to be able to sprint like a pro if youre just going to end up with the endurance of a sloth?
And another thing, whats with all the emphasis on high-cadence drills and leg speed workouts? Dont these trainers know that the key to fat loss is actually increasing your mitochondrial density, not just your leg speed? Its time to start focusing on workouts that actually improve your bodys ability to burn fat, rather than just burning calories for the sake of it.
Id love to hear from some of the experts on this forum - are there any indoor cycling workouts out there that actually prioritize fat loss over just burning calories, and if so, what do they look like?
