Jason- If you want to upgrade all of the components *and* the fork, I

As for tinkering, sure, why not? There's no rule that says you can't

I am thinking more of a year-long tinkering if you can follow me. Maybe I
would watch the sales at the LBS or Ebay and piece together upgraded pieces
and install them in 'groups'. For instance, I could buy a derailer and
install in now if ot works with my current set-up, or wait until I have
complimentary pieces. Sure. I could just buy a new bike, but I think I get
almost as much fun with planning/ doing the 'build' as I do riding 🙂 And I
look at it as a great way to learn. I could go out and easily drop $1000 on
a new bike today, but a $100 a month or so in parts over a year is easier to
hide from the wife...errr...well, you get it 🙂
BTW, what size of front derailer does the 7300fx take?
