Best Brakes for Linear Pull Levers?

Most brake manufacturers recommend that you do not use handles designed for linear pulls with
regular canti's. This is probably because they pull so much cable that it would be difficult to get
accurate braking. I may be wrong though (Sheldon?).

Personally, though, I don't see why you couldn't. You would loose a lot of leverage and have to
squeeze harder due to the change in mechanical advantage. But you wouldn't have to worry about your
handles "bottoming out".

Because they pull the cable twice as far, they pull it half as hard.

Exactly. If you're a very light rider with very, very strong hands, this might be OK as long as it
was dry, but forget stopping in the wet.

You _would_ have to worry about your face "bottoming out." Don't do it!
