  1. If you are the type of person who does not like their foods to touch
    each other, forget about Greg's Barbecue in Statesville, NC. The
    dividers on the melamine plate were rendered irrelevant by the mounds of
    shredded pork, coleslaw, beans and french fries. The bbq is delicious
    as is, or you can add either hot or sweet bbq sauce from the bottles on
    the table.

    A short Italian menu and grill and sandwich selections round out the
    menu. Unfortunately gyro and pita are the only survivors from Greg's
    Greek heritage.

    Located in a strip mall among budget hotels, Greg's makes Statesville a
    good overnight stop. Address is 707 Sullivan Rd. (US-21) It is off
    I-40 one exit west of I-77. Good food in a simple setting.

    Greg has other locations in Mooresville and Matthews.
