  1. If you are the type of person who does not like their foods to touch
each other, forget about Greg's Barbecue in Statesville, NC. The
dividers on the melamine plate were rendered irrelevant by the mounds of
shredded pork, coleslaw, beans and french fries. The bbq is delicious
as is, or you can add either hot or sweet bbq sauce from the bottles on
    the table.

A short Italian menu and grill and sandwich selections round out the
menu. Unfortunately gyro and pita are the only survivors from Greg's
    Greek heritage.

Located in a strip mall among budget hotels, Greg's makes Statesville a
good overnight stop. Address is 707 Sullivan Rd. (US-21) It is off
I-40 one exit west of I-77. Good food in a simple setting.

Greg has other locations in Mooresville and Matthews.

What was the cost of this feast and how'd the coleslaw stand up to the Q
sauce? Were the french fries fresh and crisp or soggy? Details! Don't
    tease...

What? Foods not touch? What's with that? The slaw and maybe some of
the beans are *supposed* to be *in* the sandwich with the BBQ.
You can keep the "previously frozen" french fries.

  4. Guess I am not much of a restaurant reviewer:-) The BBQ Plate was
$5.95. The coleslaw was the vinegar style, not creamy, and sort of
overpowered the bbq sauces, which explains why I did not eat much of it.
The fries were right out of the fryer and too hot to eat
immediately. The beans were standard issue, probably canned, but what I
expected with bbq. The star of the show was the "Bar-B-Que", available
either chopped or sliced. No ribs on the menu.

BTW, breakfast the next day was ordinary, but better than the donut
    offered by the hotel.
