  1. Where is a good starting point for an out of shape 40 yr old? For now, my goal is to get into shape. I would really like to take this as far as I can. What is a good starting distance for an out of shape newbie? Anything else you think I should know?

  2. Just go out for a ride for 10 or 15 minutes. Take it easy and see how you feel. Have fun and don't stress to much about making it see like exercise or hard work. As you do it more often you'll end up going further and faster, it'll still be fun but you'll get lots of exercise.

Tips: learn basic things like how to fix a puncture and replace an inner tube. Keep the tires pumped up to keep the bike rolling faster and it'll help stop some flat tires too.

  3. Luckily, cycling is something that you can pick up no matter your age, and your health is less important compared to more vigorous activities. The best thing you can do is grab a bike and start cycling for a few minutes every day. You'll undoubtedly start getting comfortable going for longer times and distances, which should come with various health benefits. 🙂
