I'm off skiing this winter just for a week and I'm looking for a shell skijacket. I would like to use this afterwards for walks etc. Have anyone tried or has any comments on the Jasper jacket or Aquafoil material. I assume it's not as breathable as goretex but then It's going to be layered and it's within my budget of £120. Any comments?

I was happy with an Aquafoil walking jacket I had until the coating started to come off after probably 5 or 6 years. I've got a Goretex Paclite now (for lightness) but personally, I've never been able to notice much difference in the breathabilities of any of the different waterproof fabrics I've used. I reckon so long as you're fit enough for whatever you want to do and wear appropriate levels of clothing with enough ventilation to avoid overheating in the first place the quest for the latest most breathable fabrics can happily pass you by.
