I was happy with an Aquafoil walking jacket I had until the coating started
to come off after probably 5 or 6 years. I've got a Goretex Paclite now
(for lightness) but personally, I've never been able to notice much
difference in the breathabilities of any of the different waterproof fabrics
I've used. I reckon so long as you're fit enough for whatever you want to
do and wear appropriate levels of clothing with enough ventilation to avoid
overheating in the first place the quest for the latest most breathable
fabrics can happily pass you by.
