I'm taking a quick tally of any bent riders in Jacksonville, Florida or N.E. Florida. Your responses
are greatly appreciated.

Here I am: Male, 58, driving a 4-month-old Easyracers EZ-1. Regular on the Jax-Baldwin Rail Trail,
and have also ridden it on the Withlacoochee State Trail.

I bike commute from Fort Caroline area to Mayport. This of course is only when my ship is actually
in Mayport. I am using my Catrike right now as my main commuter. I also have 2 Bike E FX, 1
Challenge Twister, 2 Trek 200, 1 Rotator Pursuit, and a Rebike.

You've got a great variety of rides, there. What was the typical way you acquired them (internet,
local bike shop, friend, other)? Looking to see if there is interest in a recumbent source in Jax.

Westside/Argyle, 45 years, male, BikeE CT, commuter. A shop that specializes in 'bents in Jax would
be great. The Lakeshore Schwinn at Park Ave in Orange Park welcomes 'bents and does good work at
reasonable cost. I am not affiliated, just a happy customer.

Greenspeed GTO owner who recently move to Jax. Dissatisfied with local roads, most of which have no
room for my trike, not to mention the general driving public, who also give no room for cyclists.
I'm optimistic that as I learn the city I'll find better riding conditions then what exists near my
home at Southside Blvd and Baymedows. I have not been riding much lately, but would like to find a
local club with a bent division. In my stable is a Trek 8000 (Mt.)and Schwinn Voyager SP (touring).

I appreciate the responses I have received to date. There is a reason for my asking. Finding out the
bent interest in Jacksonville is key to several ideas I'm formulating for the future here in town.

Thanks, and keep them coming.

I bought the Rebike in '99 two days before leaving on a Med Cruise. I thought all recumbents were
supposed to be that heavy (75lbs). I rode it in Italy, Malta, Spain, France, and Turkey. It was a
fast away to get away from all of the "sailor" place around the ports. I purchased a blackbent USS
while I was on cruise and hated it. I have it in the states with a friend that I have not been able
to locate. Moved to Japan in 2000, started bike commuting on the Rebike. A year later and much more
research, I bought a Challenge Twister from Fool's Crow and a Bike E FX reg from Champion bike in
Arlington. Champion boxed the Twister up and put the FX in a traveling golf bag. 3 months later the
great Valley bike TREK sale was on and I purchased two and sent them to my brother's house in Jax.
Again Champion bike put them together for me. I was having problems with front wheel lift on the
Bike E, so I purchased Gator Bob's FX XL from him. He brought it to my brother's house. Once again,
Champion bike packed it up and sent it to me in Japan. Returned from Japan a year ago in route to
Rhode Island for school. During a family vacation at Micky mouse land, I did a side trip to Bicycle
Outfitters in the Tampa area. They make me a deal on the Rotator Pursuit (dual 700cc) that I could
not turn down. It did cost me a trip to a fabric store for almost the same amount to appease my
wife (but that is another story). I finally get orders to Jax when I leave Rhode Island, but first
I have to go to San Diego to a Tomahawk School. While I was out there, I fell in love with bike
paths and the weather so I bought an EZ-1 from Holland bike. Rode it a week, did not trip my
trigger so I returned
it. Actually, I did a private sale to another recumbent rider who was interested in it. Holland bike
had just put together their first Catrike Speed, so I took it for a spin and was smitten. So for
my remaining 2 weeks, I rode an average of 50 miles a day around the San Diego area.
Particapated in their Mid night maddness ride and shipped it back to Jax. I have four children
(12,11,10,10) who all ride bents. Primarly the Treks, FXs, and the Rebike. I just recently gave
my Rebike to my father to get him out exercising more following his heart surgery. He rode one
of my FXs before, but I still think that the Rebike is a great first bent. I am a bit of a pack
rat and I hate to get rid of anything, so that might also explain my number of bents. Coop

You bought stretch fabric at the store and your wife sewed a bodysock for the Pursuit. How nice
of her! ;)
