Beloki, Vinokourov, Garzelli out of Tour de France

Guest
this leaves the podium WIDE open. any predictions?
mine: Armstrong, Hamilton, Ullrich, not with much confidence.

i'd LIKE to see: Hamilton, Armstrong, Ullrich, but that's wishful thinking !

What's the story with Vino? My newsreader wasn't getting r.b.r for several
weeks. I must have missed something important.

There are other sources for bike racing stuff that don't even need a
newsreader. Cyclingnews.com, bike.com, velonews.com, etc.

There are so many other contenders. Ivan Basso and Carlos Sastre, Levi
Leipheimer and Michael Rasmussen, Dario Frigo and Aitor Gonzalez,
Roberto Heras, Iban Mayo and Haimar Zubeldia, Christophe Moreau, Bradley
McGee (ha! just kidding), Gilberto Simoni, and who knows, maybe R.A.G.T.
Semences' new team doctor will develop a groundbreaking technique for
extracting his riders' heads from inside their rear ends...

Me, I tip Mayo...

How does Frigo get on your list? Can Heras do a TT with the best?

.... who is going to crash during the first day in the prologue, on the
start ramp, and is going to break something.

But that horrible injury will spur him on to come in third.

Vino crashed and burned on Tour de Suisse. Tore shoulder ligaments and
will miss the TdF.

Frigo has everything it takes. He has won time trials, stage races, classics,
and Giro & Tour road stages...

At the very least, Heras can do mountain ITTs as well as anybody on this planet,
including Mayo. And he has, in fact, had good placings in ITTs lately...
besides which, being on the Liberty Seguros team, built on the former ONCE squad
which was dominant in TTTs and has all the necessary firepower to support him,
he has a leg up from the beginning.

What has he done without banned products/methods?

The previous winners aren't having much luck. Garzelli, Vino, now ,
Luttenberger are out. THe remaining winners: Camenzind, Zulle, Tonkov,
Casagrande.Camenzind is doing well enough, so barring a crash, he'll finish.

I forgot to mention Belli, in my previous post. I think he's still in there!

Levi and Julich will fight each other for top ten. Mayo will
disembowel himself trying to do a three week race without assistance.
Lance will race with Ullrich but Hamilton will be the real threat.

That depends on where you put the cutoff. If you would agree that after
his 2001 expulsion from Fassa Bortolo he cleaned up, then since he has
won the Italian ITT championship, Meisterschaft von Zürich, Tour de
Romandie, Setmana Catalana, Vuelta Valenciana, a Tour stage, a Giro
stage, and two Paris-Nice stages among others.

If you think he's still a doper, then I just wasted my time responding
to you, of course...

And, of course, the "dope" he used (or at least carried with him "just in
case") was just saline ... Not dope at all.

You're wrong about what he used.
