Hey everyone,
I started getting back on the bike earlier this summer after about a 3 year break from cycling and I decided that next spring I would like to race agian. All was well until a few weeks ago I had a bit of an accident with a tree while mountain biking. I ended up separating my shoulder and may have done some more muscle/joint damage (still waiting on reports from MRI). Unfortunately, I am unable to get back on the bike and ride at this point (the weight of my body on my right shoulder is too much while I'm holding onto the bars) and running isn't working out (the bounce while running makes my shoulder feel like it wants to pop out again). I'm becoming more and more depressed... I've been working my lower body with weights, but I'm still afraid that I am going to lose all the endurance that I finaly acheived. I have had issues with overtraining in the past trying to make up for time lost on the bike. And I get frustrated knowing that the fitness level I'm at has started to go down.
Does anyone have any good advice? How should I change my training to work around my injuries?
Any info is very much appriciated,
Thanks
