BB Removal

  1. I just removed a Shimano crankset from my GT Aggressor. I want to change out the bottom bracket, but I cannot get the [font='Times New Roman'][font=Verdana]original one off. Any help would be much appricated. It looks like two square bolts sticking out either side.[/font][/font]

  2. first of im asuming you've got the right tool.

    if its a shimano your BB probably takes one of these

    now even with this tool its tricky, (some come with an handle attacted they might be easier to use, I dont know i dont have one of those tho)

    The way i used was to put the tool firmly in a vice, and then put the whole frame and BB ontop of the tool.

    Then gravity should hold the BB on the tool.. and you just walk the frame around until the BB screws off.
