BB and Crank upgrade

In terms of riding, replacing a crankset and bottom bracket will yield
no noticeable benefits, unless, you change chainwheel sizes.

Short answer: If it's not broke, don't fix it. A creak, unless it's
caused by a failure that's underway, is just an annoyance and can
usually be dealt with via less drastic means. The principle
differences between cranks are in weight and durability, and there's
not a lot to be gained for most people in either category relative to
what you've got now.

Creaks are almost always water in the bottom bracket shell, allowing
relative movement. Have it overhauled and keep riding until the chainrings
get worn.
