hi all newbie on her so be nice :-) im doing a 80mile ride for heart foundation on 29th of september 2013 . anyone out there done this, if so whats it like and what route do we take. im not sure which bike to go on, i have a boardman mx race and a fuji 29er. thanks all tony

install google earth, its free, mark your route (you will see them on screen) and then choose the elevation profile feature, you will have a pretty good preview of your ride, both your bikes are mountain bikes apparently, the 29er will be closer to a road bike,

Boardman mx race is the bike I was planning to use as it has hybrid tyres ..I will do the google earth plan but as its a event run by a charity I think we will use a specific route. Thanks Tony

it seems that you get the route map upon registration, i see it has 7000 feet of climbing, but also 80 miles distance, im guessing lots of ups and down roads instead of one single climb or a couple of climbs to tackle,

Yeah I hope so lol 7000 feet in one go don't sound good lol ... I registered about 8 weeks ago but no maps yet ...ah well
