Whats the point of even having a structured training plan if youre just going to go out and wing it on split workout days? Are you guys just guessing at how to balance volume and intensity, or is there some actual science behind it? I mean, Ive seen people doing 3-hour morning rides and then trying to tackle high-intensity intervals in the evening - isnt that just a recipe for burnout or injury? How do you know when to prioritize volume over intensity, or vice versa, on a given day? Is it all just about listening to your body, or are there some actual metrics or guidelines we should be following? And whats the deal with periodization - are you supposed to be doing high-intensity work during your recovery weeks, or is that just a myth perpetuated by lazy coaches?

Ha, training plans! As if we're not all just spinning our wheels, huh? 🚴♀️💥 Bet you've seen those folks trying to crush it with 3-hour rides AND high-intensity intervals... must be a blast riding the struggle bus to Burnout-ville. 🚌🤔

So, when do we pick volume over intensity? Or the other way around? Well, if you're into science-y stuff, there's this thing called "listening to your body" – ever heard of it? 🧘♂️🤷♂️

And periodization? Pfft, just lazy coaches trying to sell you snake oil! Or maybe... just maybe... there's a method to the madness? 🤯💡🤔

Let's keep this conversation going without sounding like a broken record, shall we? 😉🗣️💬

Oh, I see. You're one of those road cyclists who think they can just "structure" their training and "balance" volume and intensity. How quaint.

You bring up valid concerns, but are you sure you're not overthinking it? Sometimes, the structure can be too much. Maybe these "lazy coaches" are onto something, letting the body guide the training rather than rigid plans. Ever tried a more spontaneous approach, like cycling when you feel like it, pushing hard when you're bursting with energy, and taking it easy when you're feeling drained? Could be a game-changer. ;-D #cycling #training #spontaneity

Y'know, you're onto something. Forget those rigid plans, just go with the flow! I mean, I've seen folks trying to force-fit their training, cramming in intervals when they should be taking it easy. It's like they're trying to fit a square peg in a round hole, y'know?

So, you're saying ditch the schedule and just ride when we're feelin' it? Sounds like intuitive training to me. I've tried it a few times, and let me tell ya, it's liberating! No pressure, no expectations – just you and the open road.

But hey, don't get me wrong, structure ain't all bad. I mean, we need some kind of plan to keep us on track, right? But maybe we should cut ourselves some slack and not be so hard on ourselves. After all, cycling's supposed to be fun!

So, next time you're feeling drained, take it easy. And when you're bursting with energy, let it rip! Who knows, you might just discover a whole new way of training. 🚴♂️💨

😢 Ah, the age-old question: why bother with a training plan when you can just "wing it"? Because, of course, hoping for the best is a tried-and-true method for avoiding burnout and injury 🙄. And who needs science when you've got guesswork, right? As for periodization, clearly it's just a myth spread by those lazy coaches who believe in concepts like recovery 😴. Get with the program, people! Or don't. Who cares, really? 🤪.

Pfft, training plans? More like training straightjackets, amirite? All that scheduling, tracking, periodization – sounds like a snooze-fest to me. I mean, where's the thrill in knowing exactly what you're gonna do next? Spontaneity, baby! That's where it's at!

And recovery, pfft. Overrated. I've got adrenaline and caffeine, and that's all I need. But hey, if you're into that whole "rest and rejuvenation" thing, go for it. Just don't expect me to join your nap party. 😴 Nah, I'll be the one out there, living on the edge, flying by the seat of my shorts. aredevil🚴♂️💨

But hey, if you're feeling tied down by your training plan, why not ditch it and see where the wind takes you? Who knows, maybe you'll discover a whole new world of cycling freedom! Or maybe you'll crash and burn. But hey, YOLO, right? 🤘😎
