When last I posted here I was a day away from filing papers to go on
permanent disability because of Raynaud's. After trying the complete
list of available treatments and medications, I had almost given up but
I had one more idea that I finally sold to my internist.
I got samples of Viagra.
The world is a whole new place now!! Within 25 minutes of the first
dose, my hands blushed, warmed and the constant pain went away. I was
in a store looking for a teapot and I found myself looking at my hands
with tears in my eyes. The next day one of the urologists that I scrub
for in surgery gave me some samples of Cialis to try since the extended
time could be a very good thing. It is.
So, with the generosity of the docs and a smile on my face I go off
to work at 5:30am with only one pair of leather mittens and only two
pairs of heavy socks. I don't have much in the way of side-effects. I
don't have any sexual urges (I'm female) or enhanced orgasms but I do
get a bit of a headache and a little backache but that's ok. A little
ibuprofin helps. I'm just happy that I don't have to worry about
loosing fingers and toes!
Just thought I'd let you know incase there are folks out there with
Raynaud's that want to keep doing what they're doing whether it's
running or doing surgery.
