  1. Ever since I bought my new bike, I get back pains after riding only 20 miles or so. The pain is in my middle/lower back and makes it difficult to take deep breaths.

About four months ago, I had an unfortunate accident and broke the frame on my bike (old Cannondale r900). I drove my car into the garage with my bike on the roof. I measured and recorded all the key distances for my bike set up using a web page I found online before I got rid of the frame. When I bought my new bike (Scattante, Performance Bike frame - it's what I can afford right now), I set it up using the same distances from my old bike. Before I destroyed my Cannondale, I had been riding for about 3 months and rode my first century without any problems. Now i get these pains after a very short ride.

I've tried adjusting a few simple items (seat position, handle bars), but it's not helping. Do i just need to go get someone to fit my bike to me or is there something else I can adjust? What are back pains a sign of (reaching too far, seat hieght too short/long, etc)?
