I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Male..age 43...6'1"..180-190 lbs. Great physical condition
For 3-4 weeks now; I have noticed a "burning" sensation in my right buttox area that seems to radiate to the posterior hip and following the femur about midway. Lying on my back, doing leg raises, the left leg does elicit some minor buring sensation, though not what I would call excruciating. My ROM is 100 percent. Also; if I bend at the waist 90 degrees while standing, and raise my left leg to almost horizontal, I can really feel it come on.
Walking causes some of this burning sensation as well, especially when the left leg is forward.
Sciatica? Disc compression with nerve root irritation? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Uh oh. Sounds like your sciatic nerve. I think it is pinched! I believe it is common amongst athletes. I don't think there is a cure, either; only pain-killers, which provide temporary and partial relief. I'm so sorry. But it shouldn't hamper your life in a major way...
