  1. I was told that the babinski reflex is overcome by cortical
    inhibition and this fact can be explained by a need for a
    walking individual to grip the ground rather than retract
    from it upon stimulation. does anyone know if this same
    mechanism is in place in other species or absent in any
    species with less cortical development as the human.
