B.O.B. trailer.

I had a B.O.B. which I used to use when traveling to visit my parent's
for the holidays, and they did live in the mountains.

When descending, the trailer will increase stopping distance and effort,
as it does increase your mass by it's own mass and the mass of whatever
you have in it. so good brakes are a good idea if you intend to carry a
lot, and remember to brake sooner. Just as with panniers.

Another thing, although the axle mount does greatly decrease the
tendency for the bike to "lift" when braking, it doesn't eliminate it,
and if it does lift, it will be with less warning. so shift your weight
back when you brake and don't slam on the brakes if you can avoid it.

I've also noticed that heavy loads can effect the handling of the bike,
as part of that weight is carried by the rear axle. this will manifest
itself as the feeling that someone is holding your rear wheel and trying
to push it to one side or the other.
