Avocet Bottom Bracket

Hi there, Would anybody know how an Avocet bottom bracket is properly mounted? I bought one recently, came in a light blue box, seems quite old. The two BB cups each have a cartridge bearing with a "floating" inner race. How durable were these things? Are replacement bearings available? thanks, sc

Hi there,
