I have just bought one that has been in my LBS since they were released. It is my 1st Road Bike, I have been riding a 2007 Blade Comp and decided to try a road bike.

I have been using it for fitness and commuting to work when it suits. I was just wondering seeing it was the first of the carbon frames whether there was anything I should be aware of.

I don't really only use it for commuting. I use it for training rides as well. I did my homework prior to purchasing it but the reviews were good. As a corbon frame with 105 components and total cost of RRP NZ$2999 (at 2005) it's an awesome value. I got it for NZ$2000 on 2006. It's a great all round beginner's racing bike. Not the lightest wheels but robust. Just be aware that under severe load/acceleration while pulling on the edge of the bar, the bar might twist a bit. It gave me a great condern when I first experienced it few years back, but no biggy.

though the carbon offers more compliant ride, it's less reactive (less stiff) than a aluminium bike. But unless you're racing and have the money to buy high end racing bike or trade off the plushiness of carbon with harsh aluminium bike, you won't need the extra stiffness for commuting. I bought this after using an OCR3 for a year. This bike is like riding on cushion and lighter as well.

In short, after 4500+km on the flats, over hills and valleys, still no problem with the frame. Good choice
