I have two "medium" priced jerseys, they're the best I've ever had.
Given the fact that my typical jersey lasts about 10 years, it's not
too expensive. Basically, they're much better than other companies
plain jerseys, e.g., Pearl Izumi. On the other hand, I like the PI
shorts which seem just as good to me and cost less than half the
price. The Assos winter line also seems like a waste, as their clothes
are too specialized and not modular enough. You can get the equivalent
of their Winter heavy coat by layering an ordinary jersey, arm
warmers, and a vest, for much less money and in a more versatile
format which works for almost all weather conditions from 5C to 35C
(as opposed to the heavy coat which only works for < 10C).

Pretty sure I got it at a swap meet, because I can't
afford whatever it actually cost. Anyway, I admit that
it is well made and really nice material, sort of fleecy
on the inside. I wouldn't say it was worth four times
more than a typical Voler team kit long-sleeve jersey
though. Never tried any of the legendary expensive
shorts.

As a proud Fatty Master, I have a pair of Assos bibs that I won in a
raffle. I would agree that the fit and material is a notch above your
typical PI or Voler. That said, the pad was designed in a way that
feels fine on the bike but feels like a giant wedgie when you were
walking around.

Interesting. That supports the theory that Assos offers superior
comfort on the bike, but clearly they haven't taken into account the
critical need for comfort in the coffee shop. Room for improvement
remains.

That's why I use underwear when I ride. I recently switched to breifs
because the boxers looked funny under my bibs. Maybe I should use a
thong?
