  1. I am aware that people with arthritis should exercise but how would an
exercise program be started....what does it entail....and how often
would you do it?? What kind of weight-lifting exercies are best, it
    any?

You might want to ask this an alt.support.arthritis as well (I strongly
suggest that you do, but I'm not going to crosspost it to there, as the
folks there aren't likely to appreciate the way people usually converse
on misc.fitness.weights). You need to provide a bit more information,
like the kind of arthritis and details of the condition, age and health
of the person, etc etc etc. These are also questions one should ask the
rheumatologist (the arthritis doctor that the patient SHOULD be seeing)
and/or the physiotherapist. Daily exercise and weight training most days
is what keeps my damaged and artificial joints going. However, without
more information, anything I or other people here suggest might end up
doing a lot more harm than good.

    Cheers,

    Ari

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone
marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow
transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:

Arthritis is a symptom, not a disese description. You'd need to get REAL
specific about what sort of arthritis, it's cause and how bad.

The general rule of thumb is you can do as much as you can do.

    for real info:

    for some real exercise:

if this wraps too much, just go to www.arthritis.ca and poke around

avoid the scammer sites selling stuff.
