I see that there is a railway line over the river - is there a footway
so I could get my bike from arncliffe to grange over sands without
going around by road?
cheers

I know the area and you can't cross the railway viaduct except by
train, pity really as it would make a good short cut.

There's an old route across the sands at low tide that coach and horses used
to use, but life was cheaper in those days (and coach wheels bigger than
bicycle wheels).
I wouldn't risk it.
