O, I sat a table, the Reading Room, in the Fogg,
Reading 'New Literary History,' one summer, I
    Read almost the entire series.

    Somewhere, all my notes
Are packed away, buried somewhere deep

    ~ Moon,
    Where?

~ A Lecture on the Weather,
    Etcetera...

    "Artifice, in this sense,
Is less a matter of ingenuity and manner, of elaboration
And elegant subterfuge, than of the recognition
That a poem or painting or performance
Text is a 'made thing' ~ contrived, constructed, chosen ~
And that its reading is also a construction
On the part of its audience. At its best,
    Such construction empowers the audience
By altering its perceptions of how things happen.
Thus, even though a work like 'Lecture
On the Weather' is a collage of found texts ~ extracts

From Thoreau, replicas of bird calls,

Recordings of thunder ~ its 'weather' is
    Charged with possibilities."

    Frisson,

The World. All abide. Now, come, let's stir, sauté, some fun!
    Here, have some...
The work's getting cooked up done. Just ask Ms.

Nigella! [My fave food chef d'oeuvre!]
Been there, done that, doing this ~
Here, care for a lovely hors d'oeuvre?

    It's Mum's new oeuvre.

    [I helped, too.]

Now, go find some klews, preferably blew,
    For the news...

    What's not?
    Who's hotter?

Seen Spot, that wire-haired Bud de Big
    Shot's?

Au contraire! See, look, over there ~
The Guggenheim Museum! Spiral up, ramp out ...

    But first,
We MUST meet, we must greet, me must eat
    On the ground floor's restaurant,

    Just south east
    Of the turn style.

    By the trellis of space,
Being recorded for the next execution.
    Open the cathedral ~
These Buttresses of Bending flew ~ My centre,
My veins put out of the cage,
And Thee ~ Now of wing, of vagrancy of an animal ~
Now, sing! Now, cry. Now, hear!
    Here, yes, there,
    That ~

    "The removed sparrow
Suffocates, makes rage in the centre,
    .... is forced to multiply
    Her force."

    ~ Espalier
    Mass of Requiem ~

    .... for infinite space...

Who would cry those with no one crying for them?
Does the sorrow make noise in the forest,
    If nobody hears?

    .... if sorrow sings,
    Unheard, in emptiness?

    "The removed sorrow
Suffocates, makes rage in the centre,
    .... is forced to multiply
    Its force."

.... and a music transfiguring reveals,
    Makes echo
    By the extensions mirroring infinity,
    Rising, balances, always higher ~
    Because the heart goes up,
    Stage-by-stage,
    By the trellis of space,

    .... a silver bird, a sparrow
    In flight ~

This obsession with detail is unhealthy. Try and control your impulse to
define everything. Let go every now and then just to see what it feels
    like.
