  1. Are the Chiltern hills considered steep, by professional cycling standards?

clearly they are not very high the tallest hill, (open to argument being coombe hill at 852 ft/260 m).

The reason i ask is im looking at buying a Felt f55 which only has 2 chain rings

im used to 3 and i have to use small ring on many of the hills around here, though although i stay quiet low on rear derailer.

Albeit the felt is around 7 lbs lighter than my current bike.

So in short... im asking the people who have riden the chilterns what sort of average gradent do you think they are? 10%? steeper than that? or less.

should a 2 ringer be able to manage them easy enough?
