Are Nalgene Lexan bottles safe?

Define safe. I would use the HDPE version, but then again, I studied
bisphenol A's estrogenic activity.

Use glass bottles - problem solved.
They are somewhat heavier and you have to handle more carefully - a
padded cover/case would be a good idea. On the pro-side- glass is
easy to clean and you don't have to worry about chemical interaction
with your tea.
