1 tsp. baking powder
1 stick butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup sugar
1 egg
3/4 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Sift and measure flour, salt and baking powder. Cream butter, add
sugar and egg. Add vanilla, mix well. Add all dry ingredients
alternating with milk, ending with flour. Spread in greased 11 x 16
inch pan. Top with sliced apple or any fruit. Top with crumb mixture.
Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour at 350 degrees.
Crumb Mixture:
2 cup flour
2 sticks butter
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
Cream butter, sugar and cinnamon. Slowly add flour. Mix well. Crumble
on cake. Dust with powdered sugar after baking and cooled.

2 Tbsp. water
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
(No baking powder is correct)
Filling:
2-3 lb. apples, peeled
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup chopped nuts
Put flour in a bowl. Add sugar and salt. Add water, oil and egg; mix
with pastry blender until mixture forms crumbs. Cover bottom of a
greased 9 x 13 inch pan with 1/2 of the crumb mixture.
Prepare filling by grating the apples on the coarse side of the
grater. Mix with sugar, cinnamon and nuts. Spread filling over the
crumbs in the pan and then cover with the remaining crumbs. Bake at
350 degrees for 1 hour. This cake goes fast!

Batter:
1/2 cup soft butter
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup sugar
1 cup sour cream
2 cup sifted flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
Filling:
1 1/2 cup peeled, chopped apples (fresh peaches, plums, cherries or
berries may also be used)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Topping:
1/4 cup softened butter
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup Bisquick or pancake mix
1/3 cup sugar
Cream butter, sugar, eggs, sour cream and vanilla in large mixing bowl.
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
Stir flour mixture into butter mixture and blend until smooth.
Combine apples, cinnamon and sugar in small bowl.
Spread half of the batter into lightly greased 9 inch square pan.
Top with apple mixture.
Spread remaining cake batter on top of apples.
In small bowl, blend butter, flours and sugar to make crumbs with
pastry blender or large fork. Mixture should be crumbly.
Top cake with crumbs. Lightly dust crumbs with cinnamon.
Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes or until cake tests done with
toothpick.

4 eggs
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 1/4 cup flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pt. sliced apples
Mix first 6 cake ingredients together well. Fold in apples. Pour into
greased 13 x 9 inch pan.
Crumbs:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 cup melted butter
To prepare crumb topping add first 4 crumb ingredients together in
bowl, then add small amounts of butter to make crumbly. Sprinkle on
top of cake batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 3/4 hour. (Can substitute
apples with blueberries or peaches).
