I know someone in the CTC who has one. He says it's very bright.
Two weaknesses as far as I can tell: no BS approval and it will use
batteries faster than something more modest.

Hmmm. I am not really sure yet. It is not as bright as my RealLITE,
brighter than a TL-AU100 nut not noticeably brighter in flashing mode
than the LD600. If you have an LD600 and an AU100 I would not bother
changing, as the AU100 gives as much visibility form the side, and is
kitemarked (which the LD1000 is not, unless the kitemark is weeny and
I haven't noticed it).
It does allow solid and flashing at the same time, but since the solid
is not BS approved and there is only one set of batteries I am not
sure that is necessarily good either.
So you can colour me unconvinced at present.

I got mine a few days ago. Very nice piece of kit, had it on this
morning even though it was semi-light since I could run it with only
one row to save power.

Tried it out at the Bikemotion show. Wasn't much impressed. 2 buttons
with half a dozen modes each: takes longer to start up /shut down than
Windows! I'd rather have a single on/off switch, so I tried ordering a
TL-AU100 but couldn't. If anybody knows an on-line shop that ships to
the continent, I'd be happy to hear about it.
