I was screaming along flat road, this morning and I was thinking... this feels pretty easy compared to the hills I've been climbing in the 39 x 23 have 12-25 on order...
I was thinking..... I didn't want to loose the 11 cog and why not a bigger chainring ?
is 53 it ? I remember seeing 54s and 56s once are they still about and does anyone ride them ?
You can get them but you will have to change your inner chain ring as well or fit a longer cage rear derailleur because the capacity of most rear mechs is 14 teeth on the front.
A lot of triathletes use them to compensate for using 650c wheels and also some TT specialists for flat courses
Lot of TT bikes have a 54/55/56T Dura Ace or FSA crankset.
55/42-11/23
55/11 gives you 1:5, so about 11m/rotation
42/21 gives you 1:8, so about 3.8m/rotation..
