Anyone here from Canberra, Australia?

I'm presuming it will be similar to the Senior Race (http://www.canberracyclingclub.org.au/ccc/events/canb_tour.asp).

This should give you a start but rest assured it will be COLD :eek:

The climbs, again assuming the above, are not that long but are reasonably hard - Mt. McDonald is 4.8 km @ 3.3%, Uriara Crossing is 2.8 km @ 4.2% and Fitzs Hill is 2.6 km @ 10.4%.

Whilst I don't live in Canberra, I've raced and ridden the courses a few times :p Never done the Crit

You are right, it will be cold.

Presume this is the Kowalski Tour. While I haven't lived there for 15 years, I know the road well (I grew up near there), assuming the road race course is as per the map:

Also, the only bit of flat road in that whole course is approx 8 km between Z, X & G on the map and it is pretty open so you could be fighting the wind there. Everywhere else it is hilly (esp. section between B & N) and some steep bits at C & U. This is the region that was devastated by the bushfires around Canberra couple of years ago.

Now looking at the start/finish line marked Z on the map (same line for all races), it is a pretty straight bit of road but hard to say how far from T-intersection marked A for the younger riders who finish from the turn. For the older divisions, they will finish from the other direction and that is a long straight and slightly downhill sprint finish - it will be fast but only a couple of k before that there is a steady climb long enough for a solid late attack if a selection hasn't happened already on the numerous climbs through the race. TT on same roads.

The crit looks to be a dead flat circuit. Roads will be in good nick, that is the parliamentary triangle.
