Any Test Reports on RANS V2 Formula?

I would think with the LWB that even the aluminum frame would ride OK. One
thing though, the weight reduction for the Formula frame is only about 1 1/2
lb less than the regular V2, most of the weight savings is in the seat.

I have a 2001 V2 and have been lusting after a Formula also ,but I know i
couldn't handle the seat base and the small weight difference of the frame
isn't worth all the money IMO.

BTW, my 2001 has been upgraded to the new style handlebars and fairing and
has a Tail sok,it's a pretty fast bike even with the chromo frame.

I am concerened about too stiff a ride with the aluminum. It is hard
to tell on a short test ride, and with the narrow rear tire. I plan
to run a little wider rear tire, and to use the standard RANS seat
foam.

Ben is incorrect. It is not a pretty fast bike. It is a very fast bike, even with Ben as the engine. Fortunately it has one drawback which allows us mere mortals to catch up. Like an steam engine in reverse, his engine has to stop frequently to relieve itself of excess water build up. Otherwise we would never see him on a ride.

Recently rode a V2 formula for the second time with the original
setup, mostly Ultegra components with XT shifters. The route was a
hilly one I have ridden for years on different recumbent bicycles so
it was easy to compare. The bike climbs great as you might expect and
the drive train was superb. Acceleration is exceptional and speed is
above par for a lwb non faired bike, mind you not as fast as a high
racer but a lot more stable at slow speed than a high racer.

If you can nit pick the bike at all it would be for lower gears for
hill climbing. I'm one to stop and enjoy the tranquility of the
places I ride thus I'm not actually in the saddle all that long at a
time but I was in it long enough to discover that for longer rides you
would probably enjoy a thicker pad. I've read different post
inquiring about the stiffness of the ride and would have to say the
frame does let you get a lot of power to the rear wheel without a
jarring ride. The ride is actually somewhat supple. Not as supple as
a steel frame Stratus or V2 but still more on the yielding side. If
the ride quality of the V2 Formula is objectionable, you may need a
