  1. The body produces vitamin A from beta carotene according its needs. But
    is there any reason for us to get some retinol also if we look it from
    the standpoint of optimal nutrition?

    Only if you don't make retinol.

    Other than that, there is no need.

    Thanks. I just began to think about the subject when I saw this study
    which seems to give a hint the hip fracture risk is lowest when the
    dietary retinol intake is from 0.5 to 1.0 mg/day.
