  1. I have only been able to ride a recumbent at the gym during the winter.
    I have my first organized ride of the season this Saturday 2/25/06.
    Any guesses as to how my performance will be? Its a Metric Century.
    Will I have advantages/disadvantages?
    I used the "hill program" on the bike and increased resistence as much as my body would let me.

    Also

    My shedule I plan on following when the season gets into full swing will be like this;
    Monday Rest
    Tuesday Hard ride 20 miles
    Wednesday Light ride 10 to 20 miles
    Thursday Hard ride 20 miles
    Friday Rest
    Saturday Long ride 40 to 100 miles
    Sunday Recovery ride
    Monday Rest

    What do you think?
    March 06 will complete my first year of biking.
    Suggestions welcome.

  2. better than doing nothing - but I'm going to guess unless you are riding a 'bent for your event, the training will not be specific enough to really feel strong on the bike.

    I had a job to do in Cairo a few years ago, and all the hotel had was some recumbent exercise bikes, and treadmills. I wasn't leading the pack whe I returned home, and that was only 70 some odd days...
