  1. My buddy called Monday to see if I was interested in the Tuesday night ride.
Why of course but where's the damn HID light I ordered a week ago? Call CC
and ask, get the tracking number, check, delivery scheduled Tuesday and
    surprise....it showed up.

As time to ride approaches so does one ominous monsoon type thunder bumper.
The entire Northern sky is black while being lit up by all the lightening.
My wife thinks we're crazy but I've lived here all my life and know the city
heat island forces most storms around the valley outskirts.

My bud picked me up and we stopped to pick up a third. He had the same look
my wife had about riding but he came anyway. We were a little late in
getting to the group meeting site only to find one brave rider, on a ss,
willing to brave the elements. We had a brief, "I don't care where we go,
let's ride" kind of conversation where four grown guys can't make a
    decision......

We checked temperature....84F in Phoenix at 7 p.m. in July is nearly unheard
of but the storm had really blown in some cooler air. We let the ss guy
take the lead since he seemed to know the trails system better than the rest
of us. We rode for about an hour getting a slight misting of very large
rain drops but the majority of the storm stayed North, hammering Deer Valley
Airport with 1.57" of rain in about 30 minutes.

The ride was fun, not too demanding but the helmet light and I had some
issues that will require some fine tuning. We ended the evening with a beer
    at Chuy's.

Nothing equals the joy of silently rolling forward under my own power, no
matter how fast I go. You can't enjoy the descent without earning the climb.
    I ride because I can.

Very cool. Glad you finally got the HID light.

It made it to 103 here in Richmond VA today.

    Mike - It's a wet heat.

Yuck. I can't imagine trying to ride in that kind of climate. I was
dripping sweat like crazy last night and it was only in the upper 80's with
    maybe 40% rh.

Remember, air conditioning is your friend......
