Really interesting reading and a great web site. I walked coast to
coast back in '94 starting from Stonehaven and ending in Fort
William. Our first leg was - I think - the last leg you decided to
avoid after the comments about sheep [censored] and deer fences. It was
enjoyable back then but I guess a lot can change with forestry and
other differences in land use.

Many thanks, Andy, for such full details. I probably won't read your
daily log as that would take away from the adventure for myself, but I
did find your equipment information very useful. Time and the size of
my wallet won't allow me to invest quite so heavily but I do now have
a clear wish list !

I think, go light and dont forget that Scotland does still have shops and
places to eat would be the best advice. We've always carried too much food
and clothing can be very heavy. Unfortunately light clothing, sleeping bag,
rucksack, tent all costs a lot of cash.
